What does Emergent Village believe?
We believe in God, beauty, future, and hope – but you won’t find a traditional statement of faith here. We don’t have a problem with faith, but with statements (read more here). Whereas statements of faith and doctrine have a tendency to stifle friendships, we hope to further conversation and action around the things of God.
Can I support Emergent Village financially?
Yes! Part of what we value is that we all contribute in many ways to the friendship we call Emergent Village. Financial contributions allow us to put on events, throw parties, maintain this website, publish books, and generally spread the good news that God is doing great things in the world today. You can find out more about contributing here.
What are some emergent-friendly seminaries?
We hope you understand, but we don’t really get into the thicket of endorsements of seminaries or denominations or the like. We find that most places are full of people who love God and are trying to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. We desire to partner with all such people. There are several seminaries that have endorsed and supported Emergent Village, and you can find them among our affiliates.
